Design Philosophy

I feel that kitchens and baths can be luxurious and comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, cozy, and practically efficient. Your kitchen and bath should beautifully reflect your lifestyle and personality.

Surprising Elements for Kitchens and Baths

I love traditional, transitional, and contemporary styles and sometimes a mixture of each. But what I really enjoy about designing a kitchen is adding the unexpected twist that brings out the character of your home. That is what makes a kitchen unique as each client. Kitchens that you’re proud to show to your friends and family and are a pleasure to live and work in.

A successful design project begins with listening. The most important part of the project is the time I spend with my clients before I even begin to design. That’s when I get a better sense of dreams, tastes, and, of course, budgets.

The Kitchen-Design Process

Some homeowners know exactly what they want in a kitchen, but many don’t. I love the process of getting to know my clients and understanding how they live in their homes. Do you cook every night? Do you like to entertain on weekends? Is it just the two of you? Or do you have a large family or extended family?

Is the kitchen just for cooking? Or eating, too? Is it the hub of your house, where children might do homework, perhaps an extension of your home office? Many times, by understanding how homeowners use their entire living space, I find the kitchen design extends into other rooms.

I think it’s more important to understand and respect your tastes and desires than to push the latest trends and what’s in fashion.

What to expect from the Design Experience

Once we determine the scope of the project and your vision, I’m able to provide a full-service design experience. Depending on how you prefer to work, I can manage the whole project, including engaging contractors, plumbers, and electricians, or I can simply provide design consultation services. I supply construction documents, floor plans, elevations, and electrical and lighting plans.

I work with a variety of cabinet manufacturers that provide a broad selection of textures, patterns, and colors, such as Crystal Cabinet Works. I’ll work with you to select the best fabrics, furnishings, accessories, and lighting to bring your kitchen or bath to life.

And we’ll have fun doing it.
